AlgaGen ReefPods are now available for dropship! Wtih 6 different AlgaGen reedpod species available, you'll be set with excellent diversity! All ReefPods™ may be cultured separately in a small tank by feeding PhycoPure Coppepod Blend. They will thrive in a wide range of aquarium temperatures and a wide range of salinities. It is suggested they be added to the aquarium at night or to the refugium to avoid immediate fish predation. It opens an exciting new area of feeding possibilities for the experimental marine aquarist. Adults may be harvested for feeding juvenile seahorses and small fish. Look for many new species of copepod cultures to be available from the culture professionals at AlgaGen. ReefPods™ Parvocalanus may be used as a starter culture to establish populations in marine aquarium refugiums or the main tank when PhycoPure Copepod Blend is added as directed. Look for many new species of copepod cultures to be available from the culture professionals at AlgaGen. ReefPods are the only truly tropical live copepod cultures available on the market today.

Moina salina live and feed in the water column and will eat a wide assortment of foods, including microalgae. The adults produce juveniles which are an excellent transitional food for seahorses and other fish that require live feeds for protracted periods. All sizes of Moina salina entice aquarium fish to feed. Although not as easily established as Tisbe, once established they will reproduce quickly, growing to adults in several days. The juvenile are smaller than 500 microns, making them suitable for larger fish larvae and small juvenile fish.
ReefPods™ Acartia is a live culture of the calanoid copepod Acartia tonsa. Acartia live and feed in the water column and will eat suspended detritus and microalage. They produce a small nauplii which is an excellent food for aquarium filter feeders and fish larvae. The adults are eaten by numerous plankton feeding fish. Once established they will reproduce quickly, growing from nauplii to adults in about 12 days. The nauplii are smaller than 120 microns, making them suitable for many fish larvae.
ReefPods™ Parvocalanus is a live culture of the calanoid copepod Parvocalanus crassirostris. Parvocalanus adult copepods live in the water column and eat microalgae in the water column aquarium. They produce a small nauplii which is an excellent food for hard to feed aquarium filter feeders and fish larvae. The adults are eaten by very small plankton eating fish. Although not as easily established as Tisbe, once established they will reproduce quickly, growing from nauplii to reproductive adults in about 8 days. The nauplii are smaller than 45-100 micrometers wide, making them suitable for extremely small fish larvae and “small-mouthed” sessile invertebrate.
ReefPods™ Pseudodiaptomus is a live culture of the calanoid copepod Pseudodiaptomus pelagicus. Pseudodiaptoms adult copepods live and feed in the water column and will eat detritus and microalgae. They produce a small nauplii which is an excellent food for aquarium filter feeders and fish larvae. The adults are eaten by numerous water-column feeding fish such as clowns, dwarf angels, anthias and seahorses, to name just a few. Once established they will reproduce quickly, growing from nauplii to adults in about 12 days. The nauplii are smaller than 160 micrometers wide, making them suitable for many fish larvae.
ReefPods™ Tangerine.
ReefPods™ Tangerine is a live culture of a large unidentified calanoid copepod, most likely in the Family Temoridae. Tangerine adult copepods live in the water column and will eat small suspended detritus particles and microalgae in the aquarium. They produce a large nauplii which is an excellent food for aquarium filter feeders and fish larvae. The adults are eaten by numerous water-column feeding fish such as clowns, dwarf angels, anthias and seahorses, to name just a few. Although not as easily established as Tisbe, once established they will reproduce quickly, growing from nauplii to reproductive adults in about 15 days. The nauplii are smaller than 100-200 micrometers wide, making them suitable for many fish larvae.
ReefPods™ Tisbe is a live culture of the harpacticoid copepod Tisbe biminiensis. Tisbe adult copepods live on bottom substrate such as live rock or sand and will eat detritus and microalage in the aquarium. They produce a small nauplii which is an excellent food for aquarium filter feeders and fish larvae. The adults are eaten by small bottom feeding fish such as gobies, dragonettes and blennies. Once established they will reproduce quickly, growing from nauplii to adults in about nine days. The nauplii are smaller than 45-140 micrometers wide, making them suitable for many fish larvae.

PhycoPure CopePod Blend is a blend of LIVE microalgae specifically assembled for use as a primary feed for calanoid and harpacticoid COPEPODS. True pelagic(calanoids) and numerous benthic species (harpacticoids) will only eat live microalgae. Live microalgae is essential to produce and maintain copepod populations. You can raise your own phytoplankton cultures and we support this wholeheartedly but in the absence of doing this, using AlgaGen’s PhycoPureTM Copepod Blend is the perfect approach. Simply add 1-2 caps per gallon per day or as the water gets cleared out.

Aquarists have reported great results when fed to clams, species specific corals (gorgonians, brain corals, mushroom corals, leathers, montipora, carnations), feather dusters, tube worms, sponges and certain anemones. It can also be used to gut load rotifers and Artemia. PhycoPure CopePod Blend is cultured in purified natural Atlantic Ocean water and should be refrigerated. PhycoPure CopePod Blend has no preservatives, is not subjected to harsh processing steps and is batch processed to ensure quality.

PhycoPure™ Reef Blend is a unique product. It contains 7 different types of microalgae as well as a dinoflagellate, zooxanthellae. It is grown in natural seawater that has been ozonated, charcoal filtered and uv treated. PhycoPure™ Reef Blend offers a wide range of particle sizes and nutritional content that, individually, have been proven very effective in various aquaculture farms, and projects. Just like humans, animals require some level of variety in a food source. It is understandable that no single food provides 100% of the necessary nutrition required for good health. Hence the blend of phytoplankton in PhycoPure™ Reef Blend. Read more at www.AlgaGen.com
